A master craftsman and talented musician Matthew Haly is redefining what a truly global Renaissance man is. Matthew has become a star in the world of Design Resource professionals. His skill set talent and professional, friendly demeanor has made him the “go-to resource” amongst designer’s, architects and savvy consumers nationwide.

Matthew opened the doors of The Furniture Joint in New York City in 2000. Initially, the business concept included sales of antiques and imported merchandise from India, Africa and South America. However, the high demand for quality custom made products quickly evolved his studio to one of the top Design Resources in New York City. His extensive knowledge and expertise in upholstery, cabinetry and window treatments make him one of the most sought after craftsmen in the design industry.

Matthew has managed to rapidly increase his client base significantly. His top quality work, attention to detail and raw talent has earned him countless recognition –having contributed to such projects as the launch of Oprah’s home magazine, O At Home, InStyle Home, events for Valentino, Kate Spade, the Olsen twins, ad campaigns for Andersen Windows, Cowtan & Tout as well as countless photo shoots for Domino magazine. He has appeared on the Rachel Ray Show, Good Housekeeping’s Makeover show and Canada’s, The Steven and Chris Show. Most recently Matthew was featured on the ABC news network.

Matthew recently authored what is sure to become one of the top DIY books in the marketplace. Matthew Haly’s Book of Upholstery, Tips Tricks & Techniques was published in early 2009 on Random House’s Potter Craft imprint and explores techniques, tips and tricks to producing A-level upholstery projects at home.

But that’s only one of Matthew’s gifts. Matthew is also a talented acoustic singer and songwriter. He has toured for several years and released two solo albums. His latest Release “Delicate Existence Of Rhythm” is best described as a journey through Matthew’s soul. With his soothing voice and cathartic lyrics so raw and honest, Matthew Haly has finally found his rhythm.
